Shop Our Standard, Pre-Made Windows In Southern New Hampshire

December 4, 2024

When it comes to building a new house or home renovations, windows are of major concern to every responsible homeowner as they determine your home’s financial and physical value. Windows come in different qualities and sizes; hence, choosing the right ones for your building is essential. You can also opt for custom or standard windows in different sizes. This blog explores the world of standard windows and their different sizes.

Standard Window Dimensions Explained

Standard windows make window replacement and installation easier as long as you have the correct dimensions in mind. The size of a standard window often differs from country to country. In the United States, double-hung standard windows are the most common type, ranging from 24 to 48 inches in width and 36 to 72 inches in height. You may see 2030 or 2044 double-hung and single-hung windows upon market inspection. This means the windows are 2 feet wide by 3 feet high (2030) and 2 feet wide by 4 feet, 4 inches tall (2044).

Like double- and single-hung windows, many homeowners also use sliding windows that move horizontally in both directions. These windows are often as small as 36 inches and as Marge ad 84 inches in width and 24 inches to 60 inches in height. The sizes are also very similar in fixed windows, as they are 24 to 96 inches wide and 12 to 96 inches tall.

Benefits of Opting for Custom Windows

The building market is filled with standard, pre-made windows for buildings, however, certain homeowner may require custom replacement windows for their home for reasons best known to them. Usually, custom replacement windows are for older houses that may not fit today’s standard, pre-made windows. The downside of having one is it costs way more than pre-made windows, and here’s why:

  • Custom windows are tailored specifically for your home design.
  • They are often made from energy-efficient materials.
  • They last much longer and will increase the home’s value
  • They are sturdy and provide security
  • Requesting for a custom-made window to help support local businesses.
